Oasis Energy owns a modern facility to receive, store and supply bunker fuels in Port Sultan Qaboos. Oasis Energy was pioneer in application of GRE ( Glass Reinforced Epoxy ) pipelines for buried sections to prevent risk of product leakage from pipeline wall corrosion. Samples of line have been tested after five years of application with outstanding results.
The product tanks are built to API 650 standard with fixed roofs. The tanks are contained in a fire proof reinforced concrete bund. 20 000 m3 of storage is available. A further expansion of storage capacity is now planed with a agreed further land lease extension from the local Port Services. All product drainage, spill and waste water at the terminal is drained via a water oil separator pit. See section on environmental policy for oil sludge disposal.
The terminal has a modern fire protection system with flame detectors, alarm system, two fire water pumps, tank cooling sprinkler system and tank top foam pourers. The fire alarm is linked to the local brigade and core staff is on site 24 hours per day.
The terminal receives product and issues product via a two pipe line system. One for black oil and the other for gas oil. The two grades of fuel oil ( 380 & 180 ) use the same line with the low line volume of 180 grade leading each 380 grade nomination.
Oasis Energy is equipped with a range of flanges adaptors to link to the range of ship manifold connections in the market. The transfer hose and flanges are monitored at all times during product transfer. Current transfer hoses from hydrant to ship manifold are 6”.
The bulk tanks are strapped and certificated for exact transfer volume measurement via tank dipping. Gas oil and fuel oil line meters assist transfer volume measurement confidence. Ship’s engineers have full access to these facilities to vercerify volumes. Product density and temperature are checked on site. The nearby ORC refinery lab is used for product specification confirmation. Test certificates for all parcels received are on site.
Oasis Energy has four large Mather & Platt product transfer pumps. The pumps have recently been stripped and fully serviced. This offers a full stand-by set to assure no pump down time. For rapid transfer Oasis Energy is able to run pumps in tandem to maximize flow. Two fire pumps, one electors motor driven and one diesel driven are also on site.
