Fuel from the facility has its own pumping station, hydrant supply system fed by pipeline to vessels docked at any of the port’s 8 berths. In this way visiting ships are bunkered at the same time as cargo handling takes place. The vessels calling at PSQ and having a short stay and looking for quick turn around are looking for rapid loading rates of bunker. OEC with new heating system in place and tandem pumps has improved the pumping rate to 400 M.tons per hour for fuel oil and 200 M.tons. per hour for MGO.
